Programs & Community Services . Sometimes animals suffer simply because their owner does not have the means – either through lack of knowledge or lack of resources – to look after them properly. They may be loved pets, but their owner simply isn’t in a position to give them the care they need. That’s why RSPCA NSW advocates both human and animal welfare through a number of programs. Many of our community support programs are designed to assist pet owners to cope with crisis and ensure the wellbeing of their animals. Others help to educate communities about responsible pet ownership and provide subsidised services such as desexing and vaccination.
Each program targets a specific demographic and combats a particular social issue. With only around two per cent of our funding coming from the government, RSPCA depends on the support of the community to continue to make a difference to animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty to animals.
